Google Art Project : Now Stable along with New Collections

Google Art Project, the online Platform where public can access high resolution images (about 1 billion pixels using Gigapixel Image Technology) of the artworks in the museums around the world who had partnership agreements with Google. This way Google is trying to preserve the artworks and also make them public.

Google Art Project uses the Google Street View Technology to provide a "walk-through" experience of the Museums. It being launched on February 1, 2011 the Stable version of the project is released on April 3, 2012. The artworks are also categorized on the basis of both "Collections" and "Artists". To the new version of the Google Art Project website they also added option to use your Google+ account.

The project also tried to visualize many Featured Collections like the White House of USA, Archaeological Collections of the Museum of Cycladic Art etc., and made them available for Public Viewing.
